Crop to fill

Scales the photo until it covers the whole frame, then trims the overflow evenly from the centre. Use it when the subject sits in the middle.

Fit with padding

Keeps the whole picture and fills the empty bands with white, black or transparency. Transparency needs PNG or WebP output.

When no preset fits

Switch to Pixels and type the width or height the platform asks for. With the lock on, the other side follows automatically.

Resize by pixels or by percentage

Pixels give you an exact target. Percentages keep proportions and are quicker when you only need something smaller.

Lock the aspect ratio

With the lock on, changing the width updates the height so faces and logos never look stretched. Turn it off only to force an exact box.

Percentage for quick shrinking

50% halves each side, so the image has a quarter of the pixels. That's usually enough to make a phone photo easy to email.

Making images bigger

You can scale up, but resizing only stretches existing pixels and can't add detail. For sharper enlargements, use the AI image upscaler.

Batch resize and output formats

Exported files no longer carry EXIF data, so GPS location and camera details aren't shared by accident.

Resize Image: questions

How do I resize an image for Instagram?

Choose Preset, then Instagram square (1080 × 1080) or portrait (1080 × 1350). Use Crop to fill if the subject is centred, or Fit with padding to keep the whole shot. Portrait takes up more of the feed.

Can I resize an image without stretching it?

Yes. Keep Lock aspect ratio switched on and type just one side. The tool works out the other side from the original proportions, so nothing gets squashed.

How many images can I resize at once?

Up to 10 images per batch on a free account and up to 50 once you've bought any credit pack. The batch downloads as one ZIP file with the original names kept.

Will resizing an image make it blurry?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it much larger than the original spreads the same detail over more pixels, which looks soft. Use the AI image upscaler when you really need extra resolution.

What's the difference between resizing and cropping?

Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of the whole picture. Cropping cuts part of it away. A preset in Crop to fill mode does a bit of both, trimming evenly around the centre.

Why do I need an account to download?

The account is free and only unlocks the download button. The resizing itself already happened on your device, so your images are not uploaded when you sign in.
