    Collage templates for 2 to 9 photos

    The layouts on offer change with the number of photos you add — there are 2 to 4 per count, 23 in total. Each one fills the frame edge to edge; spacing is added evenly afterwards.

    Give one photo the lead

    Layouts with one big cell ('hero') tell the viewer where to look first. Put your strongest image there and use the small cells for details.

    Mix orientations deliberately

    Every photo is cropped to fill its cell. Put portraits in tall cells and landscapes in wide ones so faces and horizons don't get cut.

    Swap until it balances

    Tap two cells to swap their photos. Spread bright and dark images across the collage rather than stacking them on one side.

    Collage sizes for feeds, stories and prints

    Pick the size before arranging — a layout that looks balanced as a square can feel cramped as a 9:16 story.

    Social posts

    The 2160 px square and 4:5 sizes are twice the resolution Instagram displays, so the collage stays sharp after its recompression.

    Stories

    1080 × 1920 matches phone screens. Keep faces out of the top and bottom strips where the app draws its buttons.

    Prints

    The 6 × 4 in and 5 × 7 in presets are sized at 300 dpi. Export PNG or high-quality JPG for the lab.

    Spacing, corners and colour: design tips

    Three settings do most of the styling. Small changes go a long way.

    Spacing

    Spacing is measured against the shorter side of the collage, so it looks the same at every export size. 10–20 reads as clean; 0 gives a seamless mosaic.

    Rounded corners

    A radius around 4–8% feels modern without looking like app icons. Use 0 for prints that will be framed.

    Background colour

    White is the safe choice; pick a colour from the photos (a dress, the sea) for a collage that feels designed rather than assembled.

    How many photos can I put in a collage?

    Between 2 and 9. The available layouts update as you add or remove photos.

    Can I change the order of photos in the collage maker?

    Yes. Tap one photo in the preview and then another to swap them, or drag thumbnails onto each other in the photo list.

    Why are parts of my photos cut off?

    Each photo is cropped from its centre to fill its cell, like 'object-fit: cover'. Choose a layout whose cell shapes match your photos, or swap photos between tall and wide cells.

    What size should a collage be for printing?

    Use the 6 × 4 in or 5 × 7 in presets, which are 1800 × 1200 and 1500 × 2100 px — 300 dpi. Photos smaller than their cell will look soft in print.

    Is there a watermark on the collage?

    No. The collage is yours with no watermark and no logo. A free account is needed only to download.

    Can I make a collage on my phone?

    Yes — pick several photos from your gallery at once, choose a layout and tap to swap. Everything runs in the mobile browser.
